Obituary.
Died of consumption, at the home of her parents in North Prairie,
Mrs. Lulu Savage, aged 19 years, 2 months, 16 days.
Lulu Sanborn-Savage died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
G. G. Sanborn, at North Prairie, Monday evening, December 23, and
was buried from the M. E. Church at Hickory, at 2 p.m. Dec. 26.
The interment was in the Union Cemetery.
The deceased was born Sept. 27, 1876, and was therefore, in her
twentieth year at the time of her death. On Christmas eve, 1894,
she was married to Mortimer Savage, of Hickory, who was bereft of
his young wife twenty-three hours before the anniversary of their
marriage. The bereaved husband has the sympathy of many
friends.
The deceased was a christian a number of years and with her
husband was a member of the Hickory M. E. Church. She was
gentle, patient and happy and to the last made herself a blessing
to the dear ones who cared for her. Five days before she died,
at her own request, her mother helped her to the organ, where she
played "Anywhere with Jesus I Can Safely Go." The funeral
services were conducted by her pastor, W. M. Runyan, assisted by
Rev. Mr. Slothower, of Benton. All the mourning ones, have the
sympathies of a large circle of friends.
