Alexander Yule

Born July 5, 1795 (July 13 (15?), 1793?) at Netherfowlie, Rathen Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Son of William (died August 28, 1839, at age 90) and Mary McKay Yule (died November 22, 1862, at age 95). Married Margaret Leeds on July 10, 1815 (July 20, 1817?). Came first to Quebec, Canada, in 1840. Margaret died August 24, 1834, and is buried in the Rathen Cemetery. Married Jane Watson. He was a farmer. He died on May 29, 1868 (1871?), at age 76, at Somers, Wisconsin.

Margaret Leeds

Last name also seen spelled Leith. Born August 20, 1792, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Married Alexander Yule on July 10, 1815. Eight children. Died on August 24, 1834, age 42, at Rathen, Scotland.

Jane Watson

Born on November 2, 1810, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Married Alexander Yule on August 28, 1835. Nine children. Died on April 13, 1895 (1886?) at age 78, at Kenosha, Wisconsin.

William

Born December 15, 1816, in Scotland. Bought land from federal government. Married Mary Spence about March 24, 1855, in Illinois. Died at age 76 (March 27, 1895?) in Somers Township, Kenosha County, Wis.

James

Born about January 21 (24?), 1818, in Scotland. Came to America in 1840. Lived with parents at Somers, WI, until marriage. Bought land in Millburn, Illinois, from federal government. Married Jessie Ann Gibbon on December 19, 1845. She was born about 1825 in Scotland. She came to join her brother, Alexander Galloway Gibbon, and her sister, Sophia, in Somers, WI, while a young woman after her parents died earlier in Scotland. It is believed that they were well-to-do in Scotland.  Children by Jessie. She died June 23, 1854, at age 29 years, 3 months, 1 day. Married Mary Williamson about March 13, 1860. She was born June, 1837 (1835?), and died May 01, 1919. Children by Mary. Died June 06 (24?), 1892, at age 71 in Millburn (obituary).

Alexander G.

Born November 10 (26?), 1819, at Rathen. Married Beatrice Henderson on October 17, 1841. She died August 12, 1849, at age 25. Was a professor in Ireland. Died March 3, 1853 (1863?), in Omagh (Armagh?), Ireland.

Mary #1

Born July 7, 1822, at Rathen. Died on March 2, 1826, at age 4 years, at Rathen, Scotland.

George

Born August 31, 1824 at Rathen, near Frazerburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Came to America when 16 years old. At age 19, became a wagon maker. Married Katherine Mitchell, daughter of William Mitchell, on January 1, 1848. She was born in October, 1826, at Fifeshire, Scotland. Children: Maria, died young; Louise, married William Hall; Ada, died young; George A., born June 13, 1858, married Harriet Head on February 6, 1883, moved to Bain County; William L., moved to Bain County; Harvey, died young. Company was bought by Edward Bain. In 1882, became vice president. In 1900, became president of Bain Farm Wagon Company. Champion golf player. Died on January 23, 1916, at Somers, Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

Beatrice

Born January 26, 1827 (1828?), in Scotland. Lived with parents in Somers, WI, until marriage. Married George Simpson Smith in Chicago on January 25, 1845. See details. Died on March 20 (21?), 1910, at age 83, at her home at 1220 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois.

John T.

Born on January 21, 1831, in Scotland. Came to Wisconsin in May, 1840. Lived in Kenosha, Wis. Married Lucy Tapling in 1851. She died in 1862. Children by Lucy: one son. Married, second wife, Hattie V. Reed in 1870. Children by Hattie: three girls; Orman, married Aimee Frost. City alderman. Died on March 16, 1918, at Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Also seen spelled Couts. Born about May 10, 1833, at Rathen. Also known as Couts. Maybe name was Colin. Died in 1837 at age 4 years.

Born February 16, 1836, in Aberdeen, Scotland. Married David Heddle in July, 1861, at Somers, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Lived in Somers Township, Kenosha County, Wis. Moved to Newport Township, Lake County, in 1863. Children. Died on May 29 (28?), 1912, in Somers Township, Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

Joseph B.

Born March 27, 1838, in Scotland. Moved to California. Died on January 16, 1916, in California.

Henry Gibbon

Born March 8, 1844, probably at Somers. Moved to Seattle, Wash. Died on October 17, 1914, at Seattle, Washington.

Anna Watson

Name also seen as Ann. Born May 24, 1842, at Somers. Lived in Somers Township, Kenosha County, Wis. Died on October 9, 1906, at Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Thomas

Born February 29 (5?), 1840, at Rathen. Died on September 9, 1889.

Andrew

Born May 28, 1849. Died on May 28, 1850, at Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Frank

Also known as Benjamin Franklin. Born November 17, 1851, at Somers, Wisconsin. Attended the common schools to the age of seventeen. Attended one term of high school at Racine, Wisconsin. Trained as a carpenter, at which he worked forty years. Married Margaret Jessie Robena Strang (photo) on October 30, 1878. Children. Carpenter and builder at Millburn. Died April 12, 1934, at Somers, Wisconsin. (photo available: 1893).

Robert Buchan

Born August 20, 1847. Married, then divorced. Children: Herbert; Charles; Frank. Moved to Chicago, Ill. Died by suicide on July 23 (26th?), 1911 (coverage).

Edward Gorton

Born on May 5, 1855, at Kenosha, Wisconsin. Moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. Married on October 24, 1883, to Mary Ellen Eldrich. She was born on September 10, 1860, at Sargeant Bluffs, Iowa. Children: Lloyd Eugene, born October 3, 1855; Effa Bella, born in October, 1887; Ade May, born April 7, 1894; Paul Watson, born April 18, 1898. Died on June 23, 1932, at Bluffs, Iowa.

James W.

Born about 1847. High School Principal at Alma, Wisconsin. Was married and had a son. Died August 30, 1881, at age 33 (read coverage).

Alexander

Born in 1850. Went to Big Timber, Montana.

Jessie Ann

Born March 19, 1852. Her mother died when she was 2 years old. When her father remarried, Jessie was treated like Cinderella by her stepmother (see People Behind You by daughter, Ruby Hughes Tothill). After completing her schooling, she left home to live and work as a housekeeper for the Bain family near Millburn. Her Aunt Beatrice (Betsy) Yule Smith did not feel this was right, so she and her husband, George Simpson Smith, took Jessie in and paid her housekeeper wages. They treated Jessie like a foster daughter and part of the family. Married Hugh D. Hughes on April 3, 1878. Children: Smith, Harold, Kenneth, Alexander, Ruby, Mabel. Her children were educated by Smith relatives. Died May 20 (21?), 1903 (obituary).

Mabel Watson

Born on April 27, 1882, at Somers, Wisconsin. Married Edward Longmore on January 1, 1907. He was born on December 13, 1880. Children: Floyd Arthur, married Ruth McGinnis; Roy Howard, born in 1912 died in infancy in 1912, at Somers, Wisconsin. Died on January 3, 1970 (August 26, 1964?), at Somers, Wisconsin.

Blanche Monteath

Born on June 27, 1884. Married James A. Thom on October 5, 1905. Children. Died on August 26, 1964, in Nebraska.

Clarence Logan

Born on December 10, 1886. Married Edna Beckwith on November 14, 1917. She was born on December 22, 1880, and died on October 8, 1960. Family moved to Iowa. Died on March 6, 1945. (photo available: 1886).

Edith Jessie

Also known as Jessie Edith. Born on June 25, 1890, at Somers, Wisconsin. Married Chris Andrew Jensen on February 26, 1908, in Somers Congregational Church. Chris was born on August 5, 1885, in Denmark, the son of James Andrew and Marie Jepson Jensen. Chris was a farmer. Chris became naturalized citizen on June 14, 1918. Elected supervisor or Somers Township. He died on May 18, 1963, at Kenosha, Wisconsin. Children: Jessie Bernice, born on December 4, 1908, at Somers, died on October 20, 1928, of Tuberculosis at Somers; James Raymond, born on January 6, 1911; Bernard Chris; Lillian "Toot" Edith; Robert "Bud" Stanley. Died on February 1, 1967, at Kenosha.

Earl Strang

Born on November 30, 1894, at Somers, Wisconsin. Married Lillian Turkelson on October 10, 1916, at Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was born on June 12, 1895, at Kenosha. Children: Jack Turkelson, born on September 27, 1920, at Somers, married Lorayne Boulden in 1943, died on August 24, 1945, in Korea; Jean Marilyn; Judith Aileen. Earl ran Yule Trucking Lines. Died on February 19, 1979.

Everette Stanley

Born on August 30, 1897, at Somers, Wisconsin. Married Katherine Marie Lichtner on September 25, 1924. Carpenter and builder. Children: Eugene Everett, born on July 5, 1926, at Somers, Wisconsin, married Shirley Ernst on June 7, 1947, at Kenosha, died on December 7, 1977, at Prescott, Arizona; James G.. Died in 1975.
