George White

Born December 5 (Feb. 6?), 1812, in Annan, Dumfries County, Scotland. Son of Andrew and Margaret Little White (photo of Margaret available: 1865). She was born in February 15, 1780, in Scotland, and died on October 1, 1867, at Antioch. Brother of Andrew and David White. Married Margaret Johnstone in September, 1841, in Cannadaigua, New York. See tree above for children. Came to America in 1841. Came to Lake County in 1844. Farmer. Died February 22, 1867, near Antioch, Illinois. (photo available: 1865)

Margaret Johnstone

Born November 8 (9?), 1817, at Mossfoot, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Daughter of William and Sarah Carruthers Johnstone. Sixth of thirteen children. Came to America in 1840. Older sister of Jane, Mrs. David Minto. Died March 22, 1892, at age 74 years and 4 months, near Antioch, Illinois. (photo available: 1880)

Born September 11, 1842, at Cannadaigua, New York. Married Jane Hughes on November 15, 1865, in Avon Township, Lake County, Illinois. Children: Alice Margaret (photos available: 1880, 1886, and later), born May 3, 1843, became second wife of George Legg Stewart, later married Arthur L. Fox, moved to Cornell, Wisconsin; child died when infant; Cora Sarah, born February 27, 1870, died 1941, school teacher (photo available: 1886); David George, born December 3, 1872, died in 1938, married Amy M. Morse (born April 26, 1868) (coverage), daughter Alice Althea, born February, 1898 (1899?) (photos available: 1882 and 1886). Civil War soldier. Farmer. Postmaster at Loon Lake, Illinois. Died May 29, 1934, in Mt Dora, Fla. (photos available: 1880, and 1886)

Sarah Latimer

Born May 12, 1844, at Cannadaigua, New York. Married George Cheever Dodge on December 7, 1875. Children. Raised niece Vera Hope Worden when orphaned. Died July 1, 1929, in River Forest, Ill. (photos available: 1886, 1900, 1917, and 1928).

William Johnstone

Born July 11, 1846, at Loon Lake, Ill. Married Mary Hughes on December 7, 1876. Children. Farmer and undertaker, with business later known as White & Tobin. Died August 3, 1920, at Millburn. (photos available: 1890, and 1898).

Dr. John Latimer, M.D.

Born December 24, 1848, at Loon Lake, Ill. Graduated from Michigan university in 1873. Graduated from medical department in 1878. Married Estelle DePuy on April 5, 1876, at Ann Arbor, Mich. Four children: Ralph DePuy, born May 14, 1877; George Gay, born October 11, 1878, died November 24, 1910; Emma Johnstone, born May 24, 1880, died April 19, 1928. Lived in and had practice in Williamsburg, Mich. Died September 13, 1885, leaving wife and four children (obituary).

David Minto

Born February 23, 1851, at Loon Lake, Ill. Married Margaret Amelia McCredie on March 30, 1882. Children: Earle Archibald, born December 17, 1883 (photo available: 1889); Margaret Eleanor, born April 22, 1887, married Jesse Stewart Denman on October 25, 1911, died October 1, 1952 (obituary) (photos available: 1889, 1891, 1909, 1926, and 1936); Bertha Catherine, born November 2, 1889, married Carl A. Newman (1878-1947), moved to Boulder, Colo. (photo available: 1891, 1909), died August 23, 1977 (obituary); George Raymond, born May 2, 1892, married Vida E. Jamison on October 24, 1917, died November 10, 1972, (obituary). Farmer. Lived with daughter Margaret at retirement in 1917, when son George took over the farm. Died November 28, 1933, at Millburn. Robert George

Born March 1, 1854, at Loon Lake, Ill. Did not marry. Farmer. Died December 16, 1893, at age 39 years 9 months. Buried in Home Oaks Cemetery.

Margaret Jane

Born November 4, 1856, at Loon Lake, Ill. Married Ralph Leavitt Worden on September 27, 1884 (photo). He was born October 9 (29?), 1860, in Hillsdale County, Michigan, and died August 13, 1894, at Williamsburg, Michigan. Children: Vera Hope, born July 23, 1886, at Williamsburg, Michigan (photo available: 1886). Lived for a time in Lyons, Nebraska. Then moved to Michigan. Died March 19, 1895 (obituary). Born December 20, 1880, in Millburn. Married Lillie Pearl Watson on June 15, 1912, at Antioch, Illinois. Moved to Waukegan. Children: Lloyd Andrew, born January 28, 1921, at Waukegan, Illinois. Partner in White and Tobin Funeral Home. Died December 3,1951. (photo available: 1890).

William Ernest

Born November 16, 1884, in Millburn. Married Hazel Margaret Thain on March 28, 1911, at St. Paul, Minnesota. Children: Lloyd Thain, born January 26, 1913, in Millburn; Mary Brosia, born November 2, 1919, in Calgary, Alberta. Became a sheep rancher in Kalispal, Montana (Shelter Valley Ranch).
