Born August 16, 1815, in Scotland. Bought land from federal government. Married Jemima Marcy in 1851. See tree above for children. Came to Lake County in 1852. Carpenter. Died December 18, 1877.

Born about 1827 in New York. Married Robert Smart in 1851. Died December 23, 1900.

Simons on May 10, 1900; Gertrude Adelaide, born February 13, 1885, married Ernest Brook (1876-1964) on October 1, 1912 (coverage), died August 23, 1959; Pauline, born April, 1891; Robert, born July, 1895; Donald, born January, 1897; Antoinette. Children by Nellie: Jannette Louise, born on August 5, 1897, at Waukegan, married Kenneth Addison Allen on July 10, 1923, son Robert Edward, a daughter died when infant; Margaret Roberta, born on February 4, 1906, married Glenn Marvin Herberger (born February 25, 1906, at Waukegan) on July 20, 1929, at LaGrange, Illinois, [children: Glenn Marvin, John Edwin, Jean Elizabeth]. Married Louise Mae Hillebrand about September 12, 1918. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hillebrand of Antioch. Moved to Waukegan, Illinois. Ran the Federal Bakery there.
