These are our notes thus far.

Shatswell
William D. Shatswell, born about 1788 in Mass, died February 21, 1862. Gave first land for Millburn Cemetery.

Wife Margaret, born about 1789 in Mass, died November 29, 1853.

Children: Margaret I., born about 1829 in Mass., married John M. Hartnet about March 5, 1850, died on July 15, 1853.

Also...

Mary Ann Shatswell, born January 27, 1819, died August 19, 1880. Married Alexander Kennedy about September 17, 1844. He was born February 19, 1809 in Paisley, Scotland, and died September 22, 1865, in Antioch.

Children: Mary Ellen; Sarah Ann; John; Thomas Wilder; Margaret; William Daniels.

Also... George Shatswell, born about 1823 in Mass. He was a carpenter and moved to Waukegan before 1870. His wife Esther M. Thayer, born about 1828 in Mass.

Children:

Maria L., born about 1846 in Illinois; Esther, born about 1848 in Illinois; and (possibly) Mary, born about 1866.

Also... GEORGE PHILIP SHATSWELL Born in Millburn, Illinois, on March 23, 1842. Worked at farm labor until the Civil war. Enlisted on May 29, 1861, in Company I, Fifteenth Illinois Volunteers. Served until May 30, 1865. Married Ann Spaulding on June 18, 1867. She was born about 1845 in Illinois. Justice of the Peace. Lived in Waukegan, Illinois.

Their children are: Frederick E., born about 1870 in Illinois; Nellie A., born about 1875 in Illinois, married Charles Brown; Hattie, born about 1877 in Illinois.
